Yes of course. We know that virtually many Chinese martial arts trace their origins to the Shaolin temple. When Buddhism was brought to China, the monks had a difficult time practicing their mediation due to the physical rigors involved. Martial arts began as both a set of exercises to get the monks into shape and to develop their mental focus. And this that point Martial Arts inside Shaolin temple continue to evolve.
We begin our discussion at the time of the destruction of the Shaolin temple around late 1600. Based on my historical research, I found out that during that time there was an invasion of the Manchurian that started a new dynasty, The Qing. The result of that invasion was that Qing dynasty forces were triumphant. Forces loyal to the generals of the Ming took refuge within the walls of the temple in the southern Shaolin in Fujian.
